We danced to the Monster Mash to show off our costumes for the contest... all the "lame-o's" just sat and watched the "coolio's" show off their moves.

Kapri was NOT impressed with my dunking skills.

We played the mummy game.. which has become a tradition.

It was really fun in my opinion.. and my opinion means a lot in these here parts.

HALLOWEEN BUNKO!!

I look forward to Bunko in October every year!! This year it was Bree's turn to host.. and she delivered!! We had delicious soup in bread bowls (one of my favorite fall dinners). Everyone dressed up.. its so fun to see everyone's different costumes!! For dessert we had cupcakes and Nutter Butter cookies dipped in white chocolate.. DELISH!!

We missed a couple of our regular's this time.. my sister Jalynn and my sister-in-law Kim.. but we had some great subs to take their places!!

Dorothy.. miss "dresser-upper-hater" looked FANTASTIC in her Steeler's Fan costume!!

Umm... I'm a monster/alien/Who!! It started out as a monster costume to go along with Kapri's costume this year.. but turned out to be a "something or other"!! Really though, my name is "Flomedowndariva" and I'm a "Typendago" from "Waytoomanytutu".. but you can call me Flo, for short!!

The zoo.. again!!

On October 1st the Hogle Zoo had a "Members-Only Fall Festival".. or something. All I know is I got a post card in the mail saying to come to the zoo in your costumes!! Shonni and I got Addison and Kapri all dressed up and ventured north.

HOLY CRAP!! Apparently EVERYONE in Utah has a pass to the Zoo.. there was no where to park within a mile of the place!! After driving around for an hour, we finally got a space, parked and headed in.

In all my times visiting the zoo, I've never seen it this busy. Wait, scratch that.. I've never seen it even HALF this busy!! PEOPLE EVERYWHERE!!! It was fun seeing all of the kids running around in their costumes.. but I don't think I'll ever go to another "members-only" event!!

My cousin Jamie and her husband Scott came to visit last weekend and it was so much fun to see them!! If I remember right, I haven't seen them in over three years. Way too long.. I always love Jamie's humor and her off the wall comments (we have a similar sense of humor and often embarass the people we are with).

We hounded Jamie before she came, asking her what she wanted to do when she got here. What she wanted to eat, who she wanted to see. She had two basic requests: WINGERS!!! was the first.



We all happily agreed, of course. Its one of our favorite places to eat, after all!!














Her second request was to relax and hang out with everyone. We in turn, took that as "veg out". Isn't that what you meant Jamie? Cause I swear I ate more in that weekend then I did the entire week before!!!



Now.. the whole reason Jamie wanted to take this picture is because her purple shoes matched Kapri's outfit.. BUT you can't even see them in the picture. So.. I'm adding this one, just so you can see them in all their glory!!


On Sunday morning we had brunch.. what? More food? Okay, if you insist. After that we went on a drive around the Alpine Loop.. can we say B-E-A-UTIFUL!!! Like ridiculous. The American Fork canyon side was pretty, you saw a little red here and there.. but when you come down on the Sundance side... BREATHTAKING!!! I will officially NEVER move to a state without autumn. It was raining/snowing outside and we still had to get out and cut off some branches of the leaves.. we are officially "Crazy-Leaf-Pickers" and proud of it.








And then they left us... something about going back to warmer (HOTTER) weather in Arizona. Why they would want to leave Utah, when its at its PEAK time of year I'll never know!!

Its no secret.. my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE season is fall. I love the smells of pumpkin and spices that come along with it. I love the weather and the the shift of wearing as little clothing as possible to bear the heat, to wearing sweaters and snuggling up with a blanket. Sadly, it just doesn't seem to last long enough. Summer hangs around much too long, and winter seems to come too soon.
