Me, Cody and Kapri went to the Zoo yesterday. We just got this freaking cute lion backpack/harness, leash, if you will, for Kapri. I know there are a lot of people out there who don't believe you should tie your kid to the end of a rope.. but guess what, I don't give a rats a$$ what they think. :) I would rather let Kapri run around (safely attached to us), than stay strapped into her stroller. Plus, SHE LOVES IT!!
The past times we have gone to the zoo she was too little to care.. barely even noticed the animals. This time she was pointing and getting excited over them!! She's growing up so fast!!
The baby elephant was playin' in the poop!! Brought back memories.. of Kapri in the tub the other night.
There were NO bears this time, they moved them to the Oregon Zoo (which is probably a lot NICER than this one) so they could do some new exhibit with seals and otters and such.
This is the one "family" picture that we got of all of us.
See Cody pokin' up in the background!! Haha.. I'm so good.
Kapri was REALLY upset because we wouldn't let her eat the fruit snack that she found on the ground..
But I wanna EAT IT, it looks so good!!!
The tigers were super cute.. they were all just snugglin' right up against the fence where we could see them perfectly.
(Get the title now?? Lions: backpack, Tigers: snugglin' in the sun, NO Bears: there were NO bears. Whahahhahahehehahah!!)
When we left I asked Kapri if she had fun..
Then I asked her if she LOVED Leonard/Leopold the Lion (his name varies, depending on who you ask) and this is what she did!!

Discovery Gateway Museum...
My neighbor Missy (OKAY, ex-neighbor, she just moved and I am still in denial) invited me and Kapri to the Discovery Gateway Museum a few days ago. She's got a pass and could get us in with it. What? FREE outing?? Sign me up. She's got two kids, Jake who's 3, and McKayla who's a month older than Kapri.
They have a little town set up there. Houses, barns, grocery stores, a tree house. There's only one exit, so you pretty much guard it.. and let the kids roam free. (Well.. TRY to let them roam free, I still followed her around to keep her from putting everything in her mouth.)
She loved the little grocery store. Mmmm.. plastic pork chops.
She even made a sandwich.
They have a helicopter on the roof that the kids can play in.
I don't know how much it costs to get in, but if you've never been, and you've got little ones (they also have an older kids section upstairs) it was a lot of fun!!

Happy St. Patricks' Day!!
We started the morning out right.. with GREEN french toast and eggs!!
Kapri LOVED them!!
Later that day, we actually went OUTSIDE to enjoy the warm weather!! I am sooo ready for spring.. I am NOT, however, ready for summer. So.. 90 degree weather, stay elsewhere. I'll see you in August, preferably.
Me, my dad (whom we had invited for dinner) and Kapri went to the park while we were waiting for Cody to get home from work.
My dad thought it would be a great idea to take a picture of him by his car and Kapri on her car. (If you know my dad you understand why this is so funny.)
Kapri is still unsteady on her feet when there is any type of un-even ground. That kid face-planted it about twenty times while we were there. She was trying to pick up a pretty big rock, and every time she'd finally get it up, it was too heavy so she'll fall forward.
I must admit, she's a stubborn one. Must be related to Cody McStubberface.
All I have to say is.. playing outside is EXHAUSTING!! She is everywhere!! I am constantly running after her.. stay out of the street!! Don't pick up that dog poop, (YES that happened, THANK YOU neighbor for not picking up after your dog!!)KAPRIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!
I made corned beef, potatoes, carrots and brussels sprouts for dinner. The brussels sprouts were a first for me... I love veggies, so I was a little disappointed in their overall DISGUSTINGNESS.
After dinner we got Kapri dressed in her pj's. (Green of course, so no leprechauns could haunt her in her bed and pinch the wee thing. Hehe.) Cody read her a few books, and she was off to dream land.
I realize that she's still too young to understand why on earth her CRAZY mother would turn her food green, and why I insisted she wear green. I guess, right now, I do it for me. But, in a few years I hope she'll be BEGGING me to make green cupcakes and green kool-aid, and heaven forbid, cook brussels sprouts on St. Patty's Day!!
An Irish Prayer
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

MELTDOWN!!!
An unfortunate event...
I had Cody's mom watch Kapri yesterday while I got my hair done (well, fixed.. another unfortunate event involving the color green). I got a phone call from Annie saying that Kapri had an accident. It involved diarrea all over her clothes.. and in her shoes. I, of course, had not packed an extra outfit. I was only going to be a couple of hours after all. BIG mistake. I was debating running home and getting another change of clothes, but ultimately decided that it would be quicker to run to Target and grab something for her to wear. Long story short.. I got her the freaking cutest PJ's EVER!! And even better.. they were FIVE DOLLARS!! I'm seriously in love with them. Let me just tell you, this kid has about thirteen pairs of pajamas.. I don't know what it is about them, but I love 'em. My favorite time of day is bath/pj/reading/bed time. Anyhoo.. I took a couple pics and thought I'd share.
