Fishies.. what fishies?

Cody took me and Kapri on a date to the Aquarium. We had been couped up in the house all week and we (mainly myself) needed to get out. She didn't care much for the fish. Actually she didn't care to look at the frogs or sting ray, for that matter. She was perfectly content wandering around staring at people and playing with babies. She's at the age where she wants to be down running around.. this isn't always convenient. She's also starting to throw tantrums when I don't let her run around.. every mother's dream!!

I swear to you this kid is allergic to the camera.. or she thinks she is. The second you pull it out she looks the opposite direction, REFUSING to look at you. This is a killer, especially to me, Miss Obsessive Picture Taker woman. She also refuses to take a picture with me. (I got lucky on this day, see above picture.) Maybe she's allergic to me too. I'm gonna use that against her next time she's hanging on me, begging me to pick her up. "Nope Kapri, you're allergic to me, remember? You'll break out in hives!!" Maybe I'm overreacting a little... but only a little.

Perfect example.. Kapri sit here in this boat so we can take a picture. What? You want me to sit where? Oooh.. look a screw on the wall..

Way over there..

Here I goooo!!

Stripes and magazines..

Kapri's really into reading/looking at pics in books lately. This time the "Taste of Home" magazine was her choice.

Then.. she started ripping it up. Ahhh.. the joys of a one year old.

*Disclaimer: I am fully aware that my kid's shirt is FILTHY in this post.. but it doesn't take away from her overall cuteness. The end.

Miss Addison turned 1!!!

Shonni's little girl Addison turned one on December 30, so she had a party at my mom's on New Year's Day. Her aunts/uncles/grandma/grandpa.. and maybe even their dogs, gave her a four wheeler. Hello AWESOME!! She loved it.. and much to our surprise, actually knew what to do with it. They only had to show her the "gas" button once and off she went!!

We sat Kapri on it and she acted like a 15 year old trying to learn stick in a church parking lot. Stop, go, stop, GOOOO!! She preferred riding on the back while Addie drove.

I'm pretty sure that Addison is thinking "I'll play along and give this here chick a ride, but this is MY four wheeler.. I'm sick of sharing stuff with her.. she's mean to me".. or somethin' like that.

Addison dug into her cake.. a little at first.

Then she went full force.

After she'd had some fun she was nice enough to share with Kapri.

Shonni thought they weren't making a big enough mess so she contributed by putting the cake on their heads.. you should've seen the bathtub water. Gross.

Mother.. my nose is cold, and my toes are cold.. and my tail is cold.

Yesterday Jalynn and I were out on an adventure (some might call it a mission) to find.. well.. something. I can't disclose that information here..yet. If I did, I'd have to kill you. And we all know I don't want to have to do that.. cause then who'd read this here blog of mine.

Anyway.. we happened to come up on this "gym". Its in the middle of Draper park, and its made entirely of metal. We decided to try it out..

We gazelled, and laughed, and heaved, and laughed, and rowed.. and laughed. Then we said "what the crap are we doing? It FREEZING!!"

PS.. name the movie the title of this post comes from and TEN POINTS FOR YOU!!

Snip, Snip, Snip...

A few months ago my sister, Jalynn, told me about Disney's "Give a day, get a day" thingy-ma-jig. You sign up for a day of service, and you get a day pass to Disneyland/Disneyworld. Fantastic idea Disney.. I know its sad that you have to bribe americans to do charity work, but really, you make millions of dollars a year.. it can't hurt to give a little. Right? RIGHT? Tap, tap.. this thing on?

Anyway, there are a bunch of different things you can sign up for. We chose to do blankets.

It wasn't a ton of money, and it only took a couple of hours to do. And as cliche as it sounds, it feels good knowing we just made something that will comfort a little boy or girl staying in a big scary hospital. So why haven't we done something like this before? Well, since I can't change the past.. lets look forward. We (meaning ME, with Cody later agreeing and Kapri having no choice) have decided that our family is going to do some type of charity work every January. It'll give us something to look forward to during this drab, boring month after the holidays are over. I realize once a year might seem lame, and I actually feel ridiculous saying it out loud, but its a start. I realize every day how lucky we are to have steady jobs and a roof over our head. Especially on freezing cold, rainy nights like this one.

I triple dog dare you to do the same. Once a year people.. what excuse could you possibly have not to do it?

Clothes 'n such...

Kapri's new favorite thing to do is walk around gathering clothes.. sometimes my bra even gets snagged. Then she just walks around with them. I'm not sure what she finds so entertaining, but I'm hoping its a sign that she'll be a good picker-upper!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I decided to have a few people over for New Year's Eve. I had this brilliant idea to eat lots of delicious mexican food (I had about a billion frozen tamales in the freezer, begging us to eat them), and I thought that our Wii could use some action. We haven't had much time to use it since buying it a few weeks ago.

First I was calling it a Wii Ciesta, but I was quickly informed that no one would want to take a nap, while playing the Wii, on New Year's Eve. I corrected myself and started calling it a Wii Mexican Fiesta!!! Ai Ai Ai!! It was so nice of Cody to let me know that I did not need to insert the "Mexican" in front of "Fiesta". A "Fiesta", afterall, IS a mexican party. Ahhhh!! It all makes sense now.

Back to my non-ciesta, ex-nay on the mexican-ay, Wii FIESTA!! I provided tamales (which didn't finish cooking until the butt end of the party)refried beans smothered in cheese and mexican rice. Oh, and delicious guacamole. I cannot get enough of that stuff!! Jalynn brought taquitos (holy DELICIOUS) and queso. Oh and lets not forget the FRIED ICE CREAM!! Crapola there was a lotta food!! Shonni brought NOTHING.. this is the last time they're coming to my house expecting a free ride!! I'm only half kidding. We're totally trying to watch our weight.. WHAHAHAHAHA!! Really though.. starting Monday.

The night was full of remote swinging, boob scooping, "Do I look better texting with one hand, or two", face stuffing, street jumping, If I were King of the FORrreeEESSSTT!!, pant peeing laughs!!!

At midnight we piled on our shoes and coats.. and headed out to bang pots and pans!!

I handed the camera to Shawn and told him to take pics of us "jumping in the air".. these are our attempts at lift off...

Close.. but no.

Try again.. ahhhh... no.

Jalynn and I were literally peeing our pants laughing.. this whole having a baby thing has done a number on my already weak bladder. I think I'll be wearing depends after my second kid.

In the end, we decided that maybe we should stop this jumping in the air nonsense and just strike a pose already.

Happy New Year!!
